21.1

She Says: Moving day was filled with lots of emotions. Sad to leave Chateau de Shalimar and our great neighbors, excited for the future. Left with tears in my eyes (and lots of stuff for the neighborhood salvage folks).

Two Men and a Truck had a cookout and blocked in One Man and  a Van so we had the truck. So off went everything and cleaning commenced. My friend Mary had the house cleaner than it has ever been in no time. I felt like I stood around while she did all the work
But, I am so grateful for her help.

Cats were quarantined into their room, no blood or real scratches on a single human when putting them in the carriers. I even caught the elusive Macka first try. The boys were the quickest to emerge at Affordable Suites, even played a bit with the feather on a pole toy. The girls less so impressed. Some cat did have a comment about the new matching litter boxes and not only pulled down a door, but the trim too. I was smart enough to remove a door on one... Will get a plug in pheromone today.

But we are in! Kinda feels like life is a circle now that we are back temporarily on Stoneridege Drive. I worked here, and we lived across the street in Tamarind Apartments. Our room may not be as plush as our former starter apartment, but it is very livable. I  think a smoker was the previous tenant and sadly only ethernet in the rooms (and I have to hold the cord in...). I am in the guest house using the wifi here no one is real friendly yet.  Cooked eggs, "sausage" and toast for this Memorial Day breakfast. Jason not motivated to sit by the pool with our new neighbors, but life was back to normal and he had us washing our cars first thing. I think a beer will be next!

20.5

She Says: Took my (I assume) last walk in the hood, bitter sweet. Took the night mostly off from move related activities.... I did introduce Jason to Weed's (Showtime series). And Maaeo played a bit:) Back to packing tonight.

20.4

She Says: Another successful night sleeping on the futon... Decided to be kind and not get the picture with Jason's  feet dangling off! Nice of the heard of elephants (aka cats) to not stampede till almost 6:30 a.m.

20.3

She Says: Haven't watched House in a while, but watching it now. What will be the Swan Song for Chateau de Shalimar. Or will there be one?

Negotiating through details on offer for Renaissance Plaza. Wrapping up details on to dos for our house. Listening to cats as we sleep on futon in living room. Packing boxes of books, pictures, and all else. Pondering how us non pack rats have so much stuff.

Count down... six nights left. Hmm

20.2

She Said: Stay tuned... all appears to be a go. Electric box now on exterior wall and all furniture but futon (will let you know how if you should assume ownership Nancy). I will say rooms look smaller without furniture, isn't that opposite of reality. A twin for Jason, Neko, Maaeo and me will be interesting. Did I mention Jason's feet hang off... Did we really asks guests (my sister and her husband) to sleep on this. Will report in the a.m.

20.1

She Said: Should wrap up inspections of condo tomorrow! HVAC people said they hadn't been there since 2007, hmmm. I do know the buyers of ours are moving in for sure, we are now getting their mail, including a bill and unmarked package...

So current dilemmas (it isn't spelled dilemna, who knew?!!?) include: our need for a storage shed or small Mobile Attic unit (less expensive and local compared to the p thing), if antique dealers and liquidators aren't calling us back should we go to consignment and how long will we be homeless. Only time will resolve these soon to be  non issues.

On a non suburban to urban topic I will make a confession... I read the Fifty Shades series quickly. I finished my book and saw it in the NY Times best seller list so bought it. Next day NPR told me it was being banned from libraries in Florida. Like Hunger Games and Twilight series I can't tell you why, but I couldn't put them down. I feel more educated about things I never knew I didn't know and am glad to know another literary heroine who saves a man. As I reflect, if they ban this book (I can agree that only adults 21+ should read the first book) then Girl With a Dragon Tattoo series also needs the same regulations.

Wonder what summer storms will be like in Renaissance Plaza? Side note, someone explained to me why everyone kept asking me why I was moving into a storage shed. Not sure how that happened, but here is a link to the best listing I can find, it doesn't have any interior pictures. You'll just have to wait till I invite you over! http://www.exitrec.com/homes/1320-Pulaski-Street/12312451/

Chapter 20

She Says: Well most got my email, it appears we have the Renaissance Plaza unit! So we celebrated with a weekend in IOP. Jason is experiencing back issues, think this is so he won't have to help pack?

Do know we have to be out by May 28... so we better get moving.

So yes, a sigh of relief. Now we tread through inspections and that side of the sale...new deals with the sellers. I know the fun overload of paperwork for the mortgage will soon follow. Anyone want any of our furniture? We are making all sorts of deals:) Do

19.2

She Says: It is Tuesday, and of course we haven't heard anything yet... But we are convinced all will proceed at a snails pace. Jason has the insight of the car lot appraiser... The buyers are anxious to get us out. Looks like my first job out of college will (under a new name) be our temporary home. Hurry up and wait mode continues. At least we aren't the couple with four dogs living for 10 months in another smaller, fewer amenitities, extended stay facility for only $269 than the "plush" Affordable Suites.  The dogs did look happy and healthy...

Chapter 19

She Says: We are in hurry up and wait mode. Should hear by Tuesday night what the seller's appraisal is...

Meanwhile furniture is flying out our door and an extended stay hotel that takes animals (with few questions but not sketchy) has been identified. Access to their WiFi is $4.95 for the entire stay, not like San Fran when it was $14.95 a day!

I am watching my Hosta's return to life, one more project I won't get to finish. But I am o.k. with that. At least I have finally gotten Confederate Jessamine to grow:) Yes I know it should be easy. Wonder what the HOA says about container gardening?!?!?!
